Al Bastakiya, XVA Art Hotel, Dubai

On Saturday last weekend, an impromptu trip to the Bastakiya area was made. A historic district by the creek with winding lanes and wind towers – the ancient passive cooling systems.

I stumbled upon the XVA Art Hotel in Dubai on a Saturday morning. A small boutique hotel that could be compared to the likes of the currently trending Moroccan hotels.

Eclectic art installations. Cool design store. Luxurious patterns and textiles… *sigh* obsessed.

The Pavilion, Downtown Dubai

Momma-daughter hang out sessions call for coffee dates at well designed cafes.

Celebrated my birthday last month with brunch at The Farm at Al Barari with my family.

Dubai’s Radisson Royal Hotel: Origami Hall

It’s known to most that I’m obsessed with all white interiors.

White + Blonde woods = I’ve hit the jackpot.

So, when I recently attended a seminar for work at Dubai’s Radisson Royal Hotel on the famous Sheikh Zayed Road – I knew I had to blog about their Origami Hall/ Meeting Rooms.

Not only a meeting space, this part of the hotel is more like a piece of art with its geometric architectural shape and futuristic style.

With sleek modern furnishings, this below pictured space is used as a pre-function area for meetings and seminars and is conveniently located by the entrance of the hotel for everyone to gawk at.

Working on design projects, I stumbled across this gorgeous credenza at BDDW – a company that makes handmade furniture in New York.

But the downside? These pieces list at $13,800. I bet the quality is amazing, but not a lot of people have that much money to spend on a credenza.

So I did a little research, and found some similar pieces that won’t burn a hole in your wallet!

Happy 25th Wedding Anniversary, Mum & Dad!

This month my parents have been together for 25 years. Kudos to them. It takes a lot of work, strength & compromise to make a marriage last. Unfortunately my sister & I couldn’t make it home to celebrate with them. But I would like to say.. if it’s ever crossed your mind that I may be a strong, happy, independent, humble, caring, empathetic girl.. you got them to thank.
