Al Bastakiya, XVA Art Hotel, Dubai

Standard

On Saturday last weekend, an impromptu trip to the Bastakiya area was made. A historic district by the creek with winding lanes and wind towers – the ancient passive cooling systems.

I stumbled upon the XVA Art Hotel in Dubai on a Saturday morning. A small boutique hotel that could be compared to the likes of the currently trending Moroccan hotels.

Eclectic art installations. Cool design store. Luxurious patterns and textiles… *sigh* obsessed.

Here’s some pictures of my visit.

Dubai’s Radisson Royal Hotel: Origami Hall

Standard

It’s known to most that I’m obsessed with all white interiors.

White + Blonde woods = I’ve hit the jackpot.

So, when I recently attended a seminar for work at Dubai’s Radisson Royal Hotel on the famous Sheikh Zayed Road – I knew I had to blog about their Origami Hall/ Meeting Rooms.

Not only a meeting space, this part of the hotel is more like a piece of art with its geometric architectural shape and futuristic style.

With sleek modern furnishings, this below pictured space is used as a pre-function area for meetings and seminars and is conveniently located by the entrance of the hotel for everyone to gawk at.

Home Sweet Home

FINALLY MOVED IN!

This weekend my roommate and I moved in all my stuff from the South Bay. And though it might take me a while to get it to look amazing, here’s a couple pictures of what I would like my room to look like:

The vibe I’m trying to go for: bohemian, eclectic, fun, vintage-y.. maybe Mediterranean.

One thing I definitely want to make that also fits in my budget are these awesome floor cushions. Here’s an easy tutorial VIA Apartment Therapy

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I will be posting about my weekend shenanigans soon!

Fall Fashion Fest, SF

Standard

Last night I kicked off my first weekend in the city with a short but sweet meet up with Morgan & Lucy, fellow ASU interior designers 🙂 We met at the Nespresso Boutique in Union Square to check out the Mansoor Scott fall line. see: www.mansoorscott.com.. After some great coffee and mini macaroons, we made our way to Scotch & Soda to check out their clothing and drink some Dutch tea & biscuits (quite the treat)

After this fun little fashion sesh, my roommate and I decided to check out the bar scene in walking proximity to our apartment. Lets just say that was a whole other spectrum of fun shenanigans
